Employee commitment – a key success factor

Committed employees are key to strong company performance, successful change and, ultimately, lasting corporate success. Accordingly, we aim to put even more emphasis on encouraging commitment of our employees in the future through leadership skills, performance management and our intended corporate culture.


We see a clear opportunity in the implementation of our performance culture, with which we want to establish a corporate culture based on shared values through a wide variety of measures, in which responsible and ethical conduct and the pursuit of performance are not contradictory. We assume that this will lead to increased employee motivation and thus higher performance. By strengthening our corporate culture in this way, we aim to increase employee satisfaction and employee retention.


In 2017, we conducted structured surveys on commitment in several countries, including China. In China, for example, 1,328 employees participated, which corresponds to a response rate of 82 %. The results of the country-specific surveys were evaluated in cooperation with the business and functional areas according to various criteria, including diversity aspects such as gender-specific perceptions of issues. Following the surveys, individual action plans were drawn up for individual departments.
